Web cameras

I came across a nifty little utility that offers multiple uses for a web camera. You know, those are the little cameras people have on or near their computers. They are most often used for video chatting with your friends, but it turns out there are lots of other uses, too.

The one I’m trying out right now utilizes the FTP feature of the software to click off a picture every x number of seconds and post it to a web site automatically. Since it’s not really a blog post per se, I’ve created a couple of blog pages that publish those photos.

In the green bar near the top of this page, there were pages called HOME and ABOUT US. The latest addition is WEBCAMS that let you view the last 10 images from the cameras taken 30 minutes apart. The navigation may change slightly, but it should be pretty easy to figure out. Bear with me as I work through the software idiosyncrasies.

Oh, the software I’m using is called Yawcam (yet another webcam application).
